*CHF 25 per day for optional child care from 4.45pm to 6pm, additional 35 CHF per child above 6 years per week for public transportation

Day 1: Monday, 27 April 仓颉造字 The origin of the characters

Children listen to the legend of Cang Jie, the figure who created Chinese writing. Through storytelling they discover how ancient people observed nature and turned pictures into characters. They are introduced to basic character structure and begin to notice repeating components and meanings. In the afternoon, children take part in a hands-on calligraphy workshop. The day concludes with a fun scavenger hunt in the park, where they search for and recognize the characters they learned.

Day 2: Tuesday, 28 April 二十四节气之有关春天的节气 Spring Solar Terms (from the Twenty-Four Solar Terms)

The 24 solar terms were developed in ancient China to help people understand seasonal changes and guide farming, and they still encourage us today to notice nature and care for our environment. Children are introduced to the solar terms connected with spring. Through stories and games, they learn about the customs during these terms and experience how the world wakes up and the weather becomes warmer. They visit the botanical garden to observe plants and insects, and plant their own seeds to take home.

Day 3: Wednesday, 29 April 清明节 Qingming Festival

Children learn about Qingming as a festival of nature, remembrance, and gratitude. Through gentle, age-appropriate stories they explore customs such as tomb sweeping, spring outings, kite flying, and making/eating qingtuan, the green rice snack of the season. They create crafts like paper flowers or thank-you cards for family members. Outdoor activities allow them to notice new life and experience the tradition of tǎqīng (spring walking with picknick).

Day 4: Thursday, 30 April 花木兰 The story of Mulan

Children discover Mulan’s bravery, love for her family, and determination when she takes her father’s place in the army. They imagine what life might have been like in ancient China and compare Mulan’s world with Heidi’s life in Switzerland, noticing differences in food, architecture, and clothing. Along the way, they learn new Chinese words and simple sentences connected to the story. The day includes a creative craft inspired by Mulan.

Day 5: Friday, 1 May 功夫 Gong Fu

Children explore Kung Fu not only as martial arts, but as a practice of patience, balance, and respect. They learn about its history and values and see how it connects to heroic stories like Mulan’s. At lunchtime, everyone enjoys making noddles together. In the afternoon, children practice basic movements, including simple stances and hand techniques, in a fun and safe environment.

Highlights of the LittleMandarin Chinese Fall Camp:

  • Each day is structured in such a way that your child will improve their skills in speaking, writing, reading and listening Chinese and get a better understanding of the Chinese culture.
  • The program is mostly conducted in Chinese. Your child will learn Chinese in an immersive environment. (For non-native speackers, our teachers also understand and will conduct story telling in German/English.)
  • Meeting friends who are also learning and speaking Chinese and who your child can meet again after the camp
  • Lunch and afternoon snack included; your child only need to bring a morning snack.
  • Drop off & pick up at 3 locations: Thalwil/Küsnacht or Zurich HB (Landesmuseum)
  • Pick up time possible until 6pm (service depends on the number of children) or at 4.45pm at the drop-off location
  • Your child can either participate the whole week or you can choose two (consecutive) days

小橘子春假营2026

第一天:仓颉造字

孩子们将聆听创造汉字的先贤仓颉的故事。通过故事讲述,他们将了解古人如何观察自然,将象形图画转化为文字。孩子们将学习汉字的结构,了解每个汉字的构造方式及可能重复的部件。下午进行书法工作坊。活动以公园寻宝游戏收尾,孩子们需寻找当天所学汉字。

第二天:二十四节气之有关春天的节气

中国古代创立的二十四节气,旨在帮助人们理解季节更替规律,指导全年农事活动。时至今日,它们依然提醒我们关注自然、关爱环境,并遵循健康的季节性生活习惯。孩子们将通过春天的相关节气故事和游戏,体验大自然如何苏醒、天气如何转暖。他们将制作春日主题手工,探访植物园观察花草昆虫,最后亲手播种。

第三天:清明节

孩子们将全面了解与自然、追思和感恩相关的清明节。通过故事,孩子们认识扫墓、春游、放风筝、制作/品尝青团等传统习俗。他们制作纸花、为家人制作感谢卡。户外活动帮助他们探索自然、发现新生命,并体验踏青传统。

第四天:花木兰

孩子们将认识中国传奇女英雄花木兰——一个勇敢、孝顺、坚毅的女孩,她代父从军的故事感动了无数人。我们会一起想象古代中国的生活,并比较木兰的世界与瑞士“海蒂”的生活,讨论饮食、建筑和服饰的不同。孩子们还将学习与主题相关的中文词汇,并制作以木兰故事为灵感的艺术手工。

第五天:功夫

孩子们将认识“功夫”的真正意义——不仅仅是武术动作,更是一种培养耐心、平衡与尊重的修炼方式。他们将了解中国武术的历史与精神价值,并发现功夫与孙悟空、木兰等故事之间的联系。午间时光,大家欢聚一堂制作面条。下午,孩子们将在安全、有趣的环境中学习并练习基础的功夫动作,如基本站姿和手法,体验“动中学”的乐趣。
