Children from the age of 2 years to 4.5 years are welcome to join our Mandarin Pre-school Playgroup (maximum 10 children and 2 native speaker teachers). The small size of our class allows for individual attention to each child.

The children develop a foundation in Mandarin whilst learning across all subject areas such as music and movements, communication, mathematics, science, creative art and crafts in a wholly immersive Chinese environment. From the age of 3, children also starts on character recognition activities.

LittleMandarin Playgroup employs the theme-based curriculum which integrates different subject areas under a common theme. For example, the children learn about animals, time, family, daily life and the seasons. After two terms (one year), your child should be able to speak and understand around 50 commonly used words (or increase their vocabulary by 50 new words).

Exposure to traditional Chinese cultural elements, arts and history helps to deepen each child’s love and grasp of the Mandarin Language. Our structured activities include learning Chinese children songs/dances, Chinese nursery rhymes, language games, traditional Chinese poetry, painting/calligraphy, Chinese stories, festivals and traditions.

Further, Fun Baby Gongfu is part of the playgroup routine. It helps building their strength and flexibility. It increases their body awareness, balance and coordination and helps to develop their vocabulary and social skills.

By employing inquiry-based approach, we encourage independent thinking and nurture the curiosity for acquiring language. Our program is focused to enable children to develop confidence, independence, responsibility and cultural competence.
