Children from 2 years to 4.5 years are welcome in our Mandarin Pre-school Playgroup (maximum 10 children and 2-3 native speaker teachers). The small size of our class allows each child to receive individual attention.
The children develop a foundation in Mandarin whilst learning across all subject areas such as music and movement, communication, math, science, creative art and crafts in a fully immersive Chinese environment. From the age of 3, children also starts with character recognition activities.
LittleMandarin Playgroup employs the theme-based curriculum which integrates different subject areas into a common theme. For example, the children learn about animals, time, family, daily life and the seasons.
Exposure to traditional Chinese cultural elements, arts and history helps to deepen each child’s love and understanding of the Mandarin Language. Our structured activities include learning Chinese children’s songs/dances, Chinese nursery rhymes, language games, traditional Chinese poetry, painting/calligraphy, Chinese stories, festivals and traditions.
By employing inquiry-based approach, we encourage independent thinking and nurture the curiosity for acquiring language. Our program is focused to enable children to develop confidence, independence, responsibility and cultural competence.
