Starting time/Drop off: 9.20am at Zurich HB (Landesmuseum), 8.40am at Thalwil or Küsnacht Station
Ending time/pick up: 4.45pm (or 6pm*)

Price: CHF 169/day or CHF 759/week
*CHF 25 per day for optional child care from 4.45pm to 6pm, additional 35 CHF per child above 6 years per week for public transportation
Day 1: Monday: Introduction of each other and our school mascot, “Little Mandarin.” The children will play games to learn key greetings and words for family and moon. “Little Mandarin” will tell the story of Chang’e and Houyi 嫦娥和后羿, the origin of the Moon Festival. In the afternoon, children will make a paper lantern (灯笼) craft and design moon rabbit (玉兔) masks. The children will learn some songs and poems related to the Mid Autumn Festival.
Day 2: Tuesday: “Little Mandarin” will introduce Cai Lun 蔡伦, the inventor of paper, and tell the story of how ancient Chinese people made paper. In the afternoon, they will make handmade paper using recycled materials and decorate it with flowers and leaves. Younger kids will add glitter and stickers, while older kids will paint simple bamboo or panda on their paper. Outdoors, they will play ‘Paper Fan Race’ and Chinese whispers using new words.
Day 3: Wednesday: “Little Mandarin” will tell the story of Bi Sheng 毕昇 and how he invented movable type printing. The children will learn character and book-related words through a matching game with stamps. In the afternoon, they will potato stamps with simple Chinese characters and use them to decorate a mini accordion-style book. Outdoors, they will play ‘Character Hunt’, finding hidden Chinese characters around the park.
Day 4: Thursday: “Little Mandarin” will share how gunpowder was discovered and how it led to fireworks. The children will learn words for fire, color, and sounds using sound games like ‘Make the Firework Boom’. In the afternoon, they will do a safe volcano experiment with baking soda and vinegar, then create fireworks art using paint and straws.
Day 5: Friday: “Little Mandarin” will explain how the compass helped travelers find their way and show the directions in Chinese. Children will practice saying east, west, north, and south with a fun movement game. In the afternoon, they will make a simple compass (magnet, needle, water), then go on a Treasure Hunt using Chinese direction words.
Highlights of the LittleMandarin Chinese Fall Camp:
- Each day is structured in such a way that your child will improve their skills in speaking, writing, reading and listening Chinese and get a better understanding of the Chinese culture.
- The program is mostly conducted in Chinese. Your child will learn Chinese in an immersive environment. (For non-native speackers, our teachers also understand and will conduct story telling in German/English.)
- Meeting friends who are also learning and speaking Chinese and who your child can meet again after the camp
- Lunch and afternoon snack included; your child only need to bring a morning snack.
- Drop off & pick up at 3 locations: Thalwil/Küsnacht or Zurich HB (Landesmuseum)
- Pick up time possible until 6pm (service depends on the number of children) or at 4.45pm at the drop-off location
- Your child can either participate the whole week or you can choose two (consecutive) days

小橘子秋假营2025
第一天：周一：互相介绍并认识学校吉祥物“小橘子”。孩子们将通过游戏学习关键问候语及与家庭、月亮相关的词汇。“小橘子”将讲述嫦娥与后羿的故事——中秋节的起源。下午：孩子们将制作纸灯笼手工并设计玉兔面具，学习若干中秋节相关歌曲与诗歌。
第二天：周二: “小橘子”将介绍造纸发明者蔡伦，讲述古代中国造纸工艺的故事。下午，孩子们将用回收材料制作手工纸，并用花草装饰。低龄儿童可添加亮片贴纸，高龄儿童可在纸上绘制简笔竹子或熊猫。户外活动包括“纸扇赛跑”和使用新词的传话游戏。
第三天：周三: “小橘子”将讲述毕昇发明活字印刷的故事。孩子们通过印章配对游戏学习汉字及书籍相关词汇。下午将用土豆印章刻制简易汉字，装饰迷你手风琴式折页书。户外进行“寻字游戏”，在公园寻找隐藏的汉字。
第四天：周四: “小橘子”将讲述火药的发现历程及其催生烟花的奇妙过程。孩子们通过“让烟花轰鸣”等声效游戏学习火焰、色彩与声响相关词汇。下午进行小苏打与醋的安全火山实验，随后用颜料和吸管创作烟花艺术。
第五天：周五: 讲解指南针如何指引航海者，并展示中文方位词。孩子们通过趣味肢体游戏练习“东、西、北、南”的表达。下午制作简易指南针（磁铁、针、水），随后运用中文方位词展开寻宝探险。
小橘子中文秋令营亮点：
- 每日课程设计旨在全面提升孩子的中文听说读写能力，深化对中国文化的理解。
- 课程主要采用中文授课，让孩子沉浸式学习中文环境。（非母语者无需担心，教师可提供德语/英语故事讲述服务）
- 结识同样学习中文的小伙伴，营期结束后仍可保持联系
- 含午餐及下午茶点，只需自备上午茶点
- 设三个接送点：Thalwil/Kuesnacht或苏黎世中央火车站（Landesmuseum）
- 接送服务时间：最晚可至18:00（最少需要两个孩子）或16:45在接送点接回
