Get an introduction in the Chinese culture and language with your family!

Spring is a very important season in the Chinese culture. Chinese people celebrate the Spring Festival (aka Chinese New Year). It is the time of blossom and hope. Calligraphy 书法 and Chinese painting 国画 techniques are two oldest forms of artistic expression in the world. In this family workshop, we will introduce the basic Chinese calligraphy strokes and then teach you how to write the Chinese character “春” (chūn) spring using these techniques. We will further familiaritze you with the basic Chinese painting techniques. You will create your own painting celebrating the spring with peach flowers and new tree branches.
